CIRED (Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées-AgroParisTech) and CMA (Ecole des Mines de Paris) share a commun ambition to explore possible futures and highlight the consequences of current decisions and choices by setting up a modeling center of resources for tackling the stakes of sustainable development.
The Chaire long term modeling for sustainable development aims at answering to the energy, environmental and economic constraints faced by private and public stakeholders. It is based on three main axes :
Developing a perenial long term modeling plateform to facilitate the decision making process at the interface economy-resource-climate ;
Providing a stronger French presence inside the main national and international expertise forum regarding sustainable development ;
Overcoming the French deficit of long term modeling research.
