CIRED is a joint research unit (Unité Mixte de Recherche) between Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), École des PontsParisTech (ENPC), École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), AgroParisTech and Centre de coopération internationale en recherche agronomique pour le développement (CIRAD).


Since 2012, CIRED is headed by Dr. Franck Lecocq. Dr. Catherine Boemare is Deputy Director, and Dr. Naceur Chaabane is Secretary General. Former heads of CIRED are Dr. Ignacy Sachs and Dr. Jean-Charles Hourcade.


CIRED governance is structured around two groups:

  • CIRED Steering Committee convenes weekly to discuss day-to-day operations of the lab. The SC includes all research senior researchers.
  • CIRED Laboratory Council convenes about 3 times per year to discuss strategic orientations of the lab. List of members
